EADS DEFENCE & SECURITY, SELEX COMMUNICATIONS & FOKKER combine their capabilities to deliver support systems on the NH90 Program.

EADS TEST & SERVICES, SELEX Communications and Fokker Services were awarded a 60 million Euro contract for the supply of the Test and Maintenance systems of avionic equipment onboard NH90 helicopters.
NHIndustries has awarded to SELEX Communications, a Finmeccanica Company, the contract in which EADS TEST & SERVICES are responsible 30M Euros, for the supply of testing and maintenance solutions for the avionic equipment onboard the NH90 helicopter. The helicopters are to be delivered to Italy, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Portugal and Finland. NHIndustries is a company consortium - comprised of AgustaWestland, Eurocopter, and Stork Fokker Aerospace - and is the prime contractor for Design and Development, Industrialization, Production and Logistic Support of the NH90 Helicopter in all variants.
Of particular strategic importance is the fact that the Test and Maintenance systems developed jointly by SELEX Communications and EADS Test & Services, will be the baseline for all of NHIndustries’ future proposals for the support of avionic equipment onboard the helicopters.
The contract foresees the development and supply of 11 General Purpose Automatic Test Equipment (GPATE) systems, including 4 extensions to the SESAR 3000 GPATE already in services with the French Forces, as well as 34 Test Program Sets (TPS). This common GPATE solution will be used for testing and maintenance activities for a corresponding number of equipment installed onboard the NH90 Helicopters in both its TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter) and NFH (NATO Frigate Helicopter) variants.
Established in 2000, the NH90 GPATE program today represents the most important European initiative for avionic equipment maintenance and testing systems both in terms of number of nations involved as well as in terms of industrial connotation, because of the participation of two of Europe’s most important defence electronics groups: Finmeccanica and EADS. With 6 nations having already ordered this test solution for their NH90 fleets, our NH90 GPATE system should become the reference for the test of NH90 helicopters in the world.
