ASRO-X – Airborne Ground Surveillance and Data Fusion Demonstrator
EADS is responsible for the French demonstrator programme of a complete surveillance chain (IMINT) named ASRO-X. Its function is to demonstrate the information chain of the airborne ground surveillance operation & control with the task of production, exploitation and utilisation of IMINT information.
Main objectives are:

To develop a complete surveillance system, from sensor to data diffusion

To contribute to the objectives of the digital battle space, in the field of ground surveillance

To validate the use of an enduring observation system, with several sensors.
3 types of experimentation are planned (2003):

Type 1: X-System + ASRO-X Ground Segment

Type 2: X-System + HORIZON System + ASRO-X Ground Segment

Type 3: Armed Forces Exercise.
