Developed for the German Air Force, the system optimizes and increases the combat effectiveness of a mix of sensors and weapon systems by using state-of-the-art planning, multi data-link handling, advanced data processing and ergonomic display technologies.

In the role of a mobile Command & Control centre for ground-based air and missile defence operations, this SAMOC provides an integrated Battle Management capability which can be employed for both collective NATO homeland and out-of-area operations.

SAMOC is the means to integrate and fuse air and missile defence Command & Control systems, sensors and weapon systems in a networked environment into one "System of Systems".
During all phases of operations and operations preparation, a high degree of technical, system, and operational interoperability is established by using NATO Tactical Data Links, NATO procedures and automatic Message Processing according to ADatP-3.

The networking concept generates increased situational awareness, increased speed of command, increased weapon system effectiveness and increased survivability of own and coalition forces against aerial threat leading into a common relevant picture.

SAMOC enables the whole cycle from operations preparation including training, force generation and mission planning as well as mission execution by automated tools to support the operators in executing their tasks.
