To close the growing gap between the demands made on pilots by modern fighter aircraft and the training opportunities provided by aging in-service trainers, EADS Military Air Systems has defined a new high-performance trainer concept: High Energy Advanced Trainer (HEAT).
Having defined the High Energy Advanced Trainer concept, EADS Military Air Systems is actively examining the requirements and feasibility of a concept for the integrated training of pilots of the next generation of combat aircraft (Advanced European Jet Pilot Training - AEJPT). The central element is a high-performance aircraft with performance and flight characteristics similar to those of combat aircraft, as well as highly developed synthetic training material.
