Atlante is a long endurance tactical unmanned aerial vehicle. Atlante is designed by Military Air Systems in Spain, and will be operated by the Ejército de Tierra to carry out target identification, shoot correction, damage evaluation operations, among other ISTAR missions (intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance). Atlante presents several systems formed by 4 or more air vehicles, a ground control station, a ground data terminal, a transport, launch and collection unit, a remote video terminal and a maintenance unit. It will offer the capability of operating 24 hours a day, amongst any meteorological condition and it doesn’t need take-off/landing strips, although it is provided with a landing gear system designed to operate from unprepared runways.
