Focus of Activities at the Plant
LFK GmbH develops and manufactures as a system house missile systems for anti-aircraft and air defence, standoff missiles for aircraft armament, missile systems for anti-tank and anti-ship systems, generally within the scope of international cooperation programmes.
The missile systems comprise firing posts / launchers, missiles and peripheral equipment, e.g. for maintenance and training. The product spectrum of LFK-Lenkflugkörpersysteme includes familiar systems such as Taurus KEPD 350, MEADS, PATRIOT, RAM, ESSM, PARS 3 LR and MILAN ADT-ER.
Activities such as development, integration and test of missile systems logistics are based in Schrobenhausen.
Overview of the Schrobenhausen Site
The history of the Schrobenhausen site started in 1958, when work on the areas of hollow-charge research and explosive physics commenced. Since 1998, LFK Schrobenhausen has focused its capacities on the areas of integration and logistics for missile systems. This has created the conditions to keep core competences competitive in these areas.
Whenever the explosive tests get rather noisy, the members of staff know that firework-makers simply implement what development engineers and designers have already originated in the sector of effector systems. This represents part of the activities in Schrobenhausen. The site has a unique test facility in Germany for this purpose. It is used for missile integration and tests, manufacture of components, warhead development and production, environment simulation, explosions and diagnostics. Logistic and maintenance work for NATO are also carried out at this site.
