Pierre de Bausset new Head of Investor Relations of EADS

Marc Paganini appointed as President and CEO of American Eurocopter

Amsterdam, 10  October  2002

Pierre de Bausset, 41, has been appointed Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Financial Communications of EADS (stock exchange symbol EAD), the world’s second largest aerospace and defence company. He assumes the role from Marc Paganini, 48, who has been appointed President and CEO of American Eurocopter, the U.S. subsidiary of the helicopter business of EADS.

For more than four years, Marc Paganini has been heading the Investor Relations team of former Aerospatiale Matra and then of EADS. In this function, he has played an important role in the successful Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) of these two companies and for the relations with analysts and investors, where he has set high standards of continuous and credible communications towards the worldwide financial community. At American Eurocopter, based in Grand Prairie, Texas, he will continue driving the growth of the world’s leading helicopter brand in the U.S. market.

Pierre de Bausset joined Aerospatiale in 1989 at Customer Financing for ATR, the regional aircraft joint venture of Aerospatiale and Alenia. In 1993, he was appointed President of the Aerospatiale Finance Corporation in Washington, D.C. He returned to Paris in 1998 to oversee the merger and acquisitions financial evaluation team during the mergers of Aerospatiale and Matra and EADS. In 2000, he joined the Investor Relations team of EADS from its formation. Based originally in New York, he was in charge of growing the U.S. investor base.

Pierre de Bausset is located at the Munich headquarters of EADS, along with the Chief Financial Officer and his overall finance organisation. A point of contact for analysts and investors will also remain at the Paris headquarters of EADS. In his position, de Bausset’s role will be to build on the achievements of his predecessor and further increase the transparency and accessibility of EADS’ communications with its shareholders to further strengthen its credibility in a demanding market environment and to relay back to the company’s management the financial markets’ demands and concerns.

EADS is a global aerospace and defence company, and is the world’s second largest in terms of revenues, having achieved €30.8 billion in 2001. EADS maintains a workforce of more than 100,000 and is a market leader in defence technologies, commercial aircraft, helicopters, space, military transport and combat aircraft, as well as related services. Its family of leading brands includes the commercial aircraft maker Airbus; Eurocopter, the world's largest helicopter manufacturer; Astrium, the space company and MBDA, the world's second largest missile company. EADS is also the biggest partner in the Eurofighter consortium and heads the A400M military transport aircraft programme. EADS has more than 70 facilities in France, Germany, Spain and the UK. It is active in markets around the world, including the U.S. and Asia.
