EADS: Tiger order book unchanged

Amsterdam, 21  February  2003

Eurocopter’s order book for Tiger helicopters remains unchanged. The German Ministry of Defence has only made announcements on Friday about further options due for final negotiations in 2007 and first delivery in 2012. The number of units for this second batch of Tiger helicopters has never been specified and is not included in the EADS order book.

Reuters reports (at 15:51 and 17:32) suggesting the “biggest military order cutback” is unfounded und misleading, since options are not part of the EADS order book.

EADS’ order book is based only on existing firm contracts and therefore do not require modifications. Germany and France have each given firm orders for 80 Tiger helicopters in 1999. These helicopters are due to be delivered until 2011. EADS also received an order for 22 Tigers by Australia.
