Marignane - At a signing ceremony yesterday during the Farnborough International Air Show, Bristow Group Inc. (NYSE: BRS) and Eurocopter/American Eurocopter announced that Bristow has exercised its option to purchase two more EC225 helicopters. These latest purchases will bring Bristow’s ordered fleet of large EC225s to 15 by the end of 2011. Also during the ceremony, the companies announced the purchase of three EC135 light twin-engine helicopters, plus the option to purchase one additional light aircraft.

Marignane - The Polish Ministry of Health has signed a contract for 23 Eurocopter EC135 helicopters to serve its nationwide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) network. The aircraft will be delivered between 2009 and 2010. The state-of-the-art EC135s, which will replace an ageing fleet of Mi-2s, will enable Poland’s air rescue system to become fully compliant with European JAR OPS-3 standards and to offer to its population the world’s most widely used EMS helicopter of the new generation. Berlin/Marignane - On May 28, at the ILA International Aerospace Exhibition, the German Federal Office for Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) and Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH signed a contract for the retrofit of six more CH53G transport helicopters operated by the German Army to convert them to mission helicopters fitted with ballistic self protection and specific mission equipment. The order is worth approximately €24 million, a large proportion of which will go to medium-sized German equipment manufacturers. The German Army will take delivery of the urgently needed transport helicopters between May and November 2009.

Marignane - Austria’s minister of the interior, Günther Platter, inaugurated the first three of the eight new EC135 helicopters destined for the country’s air police at the flight operations base in Innsbruck on 5 May. Eurocopter delivers the first EC635 for the Swiss Air Force
Marignane - The first EC635 destined for the Swiss Air Force was handed over to the Swiss federal procurement, technology and real estate centre armasuisse at the Eurocopter factory in Donauwörth on 7 March. Thanks to excellent and intensive cooperation with the customer, this first delivery took place two weeks prior to the contractually agreed deadline. This means that the Swiss Light Transport and Training Helicopter (LTSH) programme is running well on schedule. The contract, signed in April 2006, provides for the delivery of a total of 18 EC635 transport and training helicopters, plus two EC135s for the army’s air transport service. The EC635/EC135s will replace the Swiss air force’s Alouette III helicopters.
