Airbus At The Champs-Elysees For The Centenary Of The French Aeronautical Industry

Toulouse, 30  September  2008

To celebrate the centenary of the aeronautical industry in France, and subsequently the centenary of GIFAS (French Aerospace Industries Association), Airbus will exhibit on the Champs-Elysées and the Place de la Concorde a large number of emblematic parts of the "Airbus Family" produced on the aircraft manufacturer's various European sites.

The exhibited parts, an A380 nose cone, an A320 wing, the forward section of an A300, an A380 engine air intake, an A340 vertical stabilizer, all come from aircraft that have already flown, whether test aircraft or aircraft at the end of their life.

Additionally, Airbus and parent company EADS will also take part in this show with a large stand, divided into several areas:

  • A covered exhibition area presenting the Airbus Family, the aircraft manufacturer's industrial organisation in Europe and around the world, its high level of technology and, above all, its eco-efficient approach.
  • An amphitheatre in which videos will be shown presenting Airbus' latest innovations in R&D and eco-friendly innovations (alternative fuels, flight tests using GTL fuel, aircraft weight reductions thanks in particular to the use of composite materials, reduced sound pollution, deconstructing and recycling of aircraft at the end of their life, etc.).
