Eurofighter is equipped with considerably more software-controlled systems than traditional combat aircraft, and these systems also have much more complex structures. Eurofighter maintenance therefore to a much greater extent requires the ability to understand system interactions. Working in close cooperation with the Luftwaffe, EADS Military Air Systems has therefore developed fundamentally new training concepts.
Theoretical training is carried out in modern training centres in the form of instructor-student training plus computer-based training (CBT) programmes and computer simulation.
For practical training purposes, highly-developed training devices such as the rescue system trainer and the weapon loading trainer are available as well as production aircraft.
EADS Military Air Systems provides ongoing support to the Bundeswehr in the form of training courses and instructor seminars.
