Airbus Brings Maintenance Training Closer To Customers Through Its MRO Network

Toulouse, 13  December  2007

Airbus is extending the scope of the Airbus MRO Network in a new area with the creation of the Airbus Maintenance Training Network. As part of its commitment to providing customers with a full range of proximity services, this initiative has been designed to make access to Airbus Maintenance training courses even easier. Many of the Airbus MRO Network members will in future provide the same standard of training based on new generation training tools and methods as currently provided by Airbus Training Centres.

Airbus has already signed Agreements for the new Maintenance Training Network with five of the world’s leading training providers: Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), Iberia Maintenance & Engineering, SIA Engineering Company, SOGERMA Training and SR Technics.

These Network members have strong experience in providing training for Airbus aircraft and represent a wide regional coverage, and mix of independent and airline affiliated companies. Airbus expects the number of Airbus MRO Network members providing such training to expand in the near future.

The members will now be able to offer latest standards training services adapted to Airbus aircraft technologies and maintenance practices thanks to most efficient training tools (Computer Assisted Training, Virtual Aircraft and training devices), as well as advanced tutorial solutions such as the Airbus Active learning and Competence focused Training (AACT) concept.

Airbus Training Services is part of Air+ by Airbus, the comprehensive portfolio of support and services created by Airbus. Thanks to the Air+ by Airbus ‘à la carte’ approach, customers can select the products they need from the wide offering, that ranges from traditional product support to highly innovative services. Complemented by Airbus partners’ offerings, it covers all airline technical operations. With Air+ by Airbus, the support provided is adapted to different outsourcing policies and business models. It helps operators to significantly reduce their operating costs, increase their aircraft availability and enhance the quality of their operations.

The Airbus MRO Network is designed to provide customers with a worldwide choice of competitive, quality maintenance services from MRO providers with Airbus aircraft experience. Since its launch in March 2005, Airbus has worked with the MRO Network members to establish performance benchmarks for maintenance efficiency and customer satisfaction. MRO improvement plans based on the performance benchmarking are underway and result in enhanced services for Airbus customers.

The Airbus MRO Network now includes the following 15 members:
