Kingfisher Airlines commenced operations on May 9th, 2005 with a brand new fleet of aircraft. In March 2006, Kingfisher Airlines has ordered 35 new ATR 72-500 and has 20 more options.

ATR and Thailand's Bangkok Airways have announced in 2008 the purchase of 2 ATR 72-500s for a contract valued at over 37 US $ million. With these two aircraft, Bangkok Airways will bring its ATR 72-500 fleet up to 10 aircraft. Bangkok Airways will become one of the largest ATR operators in South East Asia.

Air Deccan: the first Indian low-cost airline Air Deccan started its operations in 2003 with four second-hand ATR 42 aircraft. Beginning of 2005, Air Deccan passed an important step by ordering 30 new ATR 72-500 aircraft.plus an option for 8 ATR-500 Series aircraft.

ATR and Philippines airliner Cebu Pacific have announced in the end of 2007 the purchase of 4 ATR 72-500s. These aircraft are the conversion into firm orders of four of the eight option aircraft included in a previous contract for six firm plus eight option aircraft inked earlier.

In addition to standard aviation certification, JAR OPS 1 and EASA Part 145, governing all aspects of commercial operations, including Training, Operational Standards, Maintenance and Safety, FARNAIR was one of the very first airlines in Europe, to introduce and apply a Quality Management System, certified according to ISO 9001-2000 Quality Standards (Certification Number 80064).

ATR Elegance Cabin and IFE
The ATR family (ATR 42 and ATR 72) benefits from the widest cabin in the regional market (seat width equivalent to a Boeing 737), providing thus maximum passenger space and setting new standards of comfort. The "Elégance" cabin, proposed as an option on the -500 series aircraft, has been developed in 2003 to further enhance the level of comfort for the passengers. This new cabin incorporates new ergonomical seats, designed and manufactured by Avio Interiors, as well as new furnishing panels and colour schemes. The Italian architect Stefano Gris in close partnership with ATR design office has designed this new cabin interior.

Final assembly line in Toulouse

Alenia Aeronautica´s manufacturing facilities in Pomigliano near Naples, (Italy), produce the aircraft fuselage and tail sections. Final assembly (picture), flight-testing, certification and deliveries are under the responsibility of ATR.
