EADS TEST & SERVICES electro-optic test benches respond to the increasing need to test growing numbers of optical test systems and equipment that are becoming more and more sophisticated.

EADS TEST & SERVICES electro-optic test systems now ensure maintenance testing of more than twenty electro-optic equipment in the field of French and European military programmes (Tiger helicopter, Leclerc tank, Rafale aircraft, armoured combat carrier VABOBS, etc.).

Electro-optic test benches can be used in every kind of environments (repair workshop, shelter or aircraft carrier).

Testers currently in operation are supporting various military equipment including:

Front Sector Optronics (OSF) and Head Up Display (HUD) for the Rafale
Gunner Sight Head (TEVTI) and Chief Panoramic Sight Head (TPVCH) for Leclerc tank,
Optic Sight Head (TLU) and Range Finder (TEL) for VABOBS armoured combat carrier,
OSIRIS sight head for the German Tiger,
Thermal sight MIRABEL,
Thermal binoculars / video camera SOPHIE, etc.

In co-operation with System and Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), EADS TEST & SERVICES also develops Test Programme Sets (TPS) associated with the above-mentioned equipment.

Various configurations of EADS TEST & SERVICES electro-optic testers implementing the latest measurements concepts are available. They are able to test, repair and calibrate most of state-of-the-art or older electro-optic equipment:

Gyro-stabilised platforms (line of sight, stabilisation, harmonisation, drift, heading),
Cameras, binoculars, thermal binoculars (FOV, MTF, NETD, MRTD, NUC),
Trackers and cameras in the visible and the near-infrared (FOV, MTF, transmission),
Light intensifiers (FOV, resolution, MTF, gain, SNR, blooming),
Laser range finders and designators (range, peak power, divergence, pulse width),
Direct displays and collimated displays (luminance, colorimetry, focalisation, parallelism, distortion, FOV).

These benches are also qualified to perform measurements and adjustments with high accuracy, while offering high image quality in difficult operational environments.

Their modularity enables multiple configurations of electro-optic test benches adapted to users' needs.

According to users' specific requirements, EADS TEST & SERVICES electro-optic test systems can be integrated into other test benches (SESAR 3000 or ATEC Series 6) and can integrate:

Collimators,
Sighting motorized systems,
Sources (visible, near-infrared, infrared, laser) and camera,
Laser range finders distance modules simulation,
Analysis systems (cameras, photometer, colour measurements),
Video pattern generation (static, dynamic, analogue, digital),
Video acquisition and display (analogue, digital, real time, coding, capacity),
Image processing (pattern matching, morphology, analysis, filtering, measurements, colour inspection).

Taking advantage of ATEC or SESAR ATEs electronic testing capacities, the equipment to be verified is tested in a global test system.

As for every test system developed by EADS TEST & SERVICES, the company proposes a set of comprehensive engineering and support services around their Electro-Optic Test Benches including on-site installation, on-request technical assistance, software development, training, on-line services via the Customer Support's website, etc.
